The last thing, as a church we have always had an open door policy with regard to finances. We have tried to manage God’s resources with the utmost integrity, while at the same time, not wanting to hold endless, pointless meetings that only confuse people more than inform them. In my desire to create transparency, accountability, and financial integrity we have employed Steeple accounting to review our books for the last three years. In her annual review, I have repeatedly asked her to help us develop a meaningful annual Report that would be worthy of presentation to our congregation. Something that would create understanding and stir up vision, as well as confidence. I kept looking around at what other churches did and repeatedly I was disappointed. Over time I discovered some churches who produced Annual Reports that were actually informative and compelling. After two years of review and refinement, we now have a presentation of that information that I believe to be helpful to the average person without having to have a degree in accounting to appreciate. So at 6:00 pm on Sunday, February 17 we will be hosting our first ever Annual Report. I am very excited about this! I hope you will pass the word around and encourage people to come and learn about what a great job your financial team has done to protect honor God, protect our assets, and fuel the vision of the church. It is a story of fiscal responsibility, integrity, and accountability. I hope you will join us.
